About Group B

Group B features co-hosts Canada playing in front of passionate home crowds in Toronto and Vancouver. Bosnia-Herzegovina, Qatar — the 2022 World Cup hosts — and Switzerland complete a fascinating group with strong European quality and unpredictable outcomes across all six matches.

Teams in Group B

🇨🇦Canada(CONCACAF)

Co-hosts of the 2026 World Cup, Canada ended a 36-year absence from the tournament in 2022 and have become a dynamic force in CONCACAF. With world-class talent spread across Europe's top leagues and home matches in Toronto and Vancouver, Canada will enjoy massive crowd support and are genuine dark-horse contenders.

🇧🇦Bosnia-Herzegovina(UEFA)

Bosnia-Herzegovina return to the World Cup after their only previous appearance in Brazil 2014. The Dragons possess creative attacking players from top European leagues and bring a passionate football culture that has grown rapidly since the nation's independence in the 1990s.

🇶🇦Qatar(AFC)

The 2022 World Cup hosts make a surprise appearance in Group B, reflecting their remarkable investment in football infrastructure over the past two decades. Qatar have built a competitive national side through their domestic Stars League and targeted youth development programmes.

🇨🇭Switzerland(UEFA)

Switzerland are one of Europe's most reliable tournament sides — quarter-finalists in 2022 and consistent performers at every major competition. Die Nati are renowned for their defensive solidity, high work rate, and the ability to grind out results against top-ranked opponents.

How Group B Qualification Works

The top two teams from Group B advance directly to the Round of 32 of the FIFA World Cup 2026 knockout stage. The third-place team is not automatically eliminated — the 8 best third-place finishers from all 12 groups also advance, ranked by points, goal difference, and goals scored. The fourth-place team is eliminated from the tournament.

In the event of a tie on points, FIFA applies the following tiebreakers in order: goal difference, goals scored, head-to-head points, head-to-head goal difference, and head-to-head goals scored. This simulator applies all official FIFA tiebreaker rules automatically as you enter match scores.
