About Group F
The Netherlands — strong contenders after their 2022 quarter-final — headline Group F. Japan, conquerors of Germany and Spain in Qatar, Sweden, and Tunisia round out a group that promises high-quality football, tactical battles, and tight margins between the teams.
Teams in Group F
🇳🇱Netherlands(UEFA)
Three-time World Cup finalists (1974, 1978, 2010) and quarter-finalists in 2022, the Netherlands come to North America with a squad full of elite talent from Europe's top clubs. Oranje play an attractive, attacking style and are widely tipped as genuine contenders for the title.
🇯🇵Japan(AFC)
Japan have become Asia's strongest World Cup nation in the modern era, famously defeating Germany and Spain in the 2022 group stage before falling to Croatia on penalties. The Samurai Blue play an intensive, high-press style that unsettles even elite opposition.
🇸🇪Sweden(UEFA)
Sweden finished third at the 1994 World Cup and remain one of Europe's most reliable sides. Blågult qualified through UEFA with a physically strong, technically capable squad and bring the tactical discipline that Swedish football is known for.
🇹🇳Tunisia(CAF)
Tunisia are one of Africa's most experienced World Cup nations with six tournament appearances. The Eagles of Carthage bring defensive organisation and clinical counterattacking play, and they will be aiming to progress beyond the group stage for the first time in their history.

How Group F Qualification Works
The top two teams from Group F advance directly to the Round of 32 of the FIFA World Cup 2026 knockout stage. The third-place team is not automatically eliminated — the 8 best third-place finishers from all 12 groups also advance, ranked by points, goal difference, and goals scored. The fourth-place team is eliminated from the tournament.
In the event of a tie on points, FIFA applies the following tiebreakers in order: goal difference, goals scored, head-to-head points, head-to-head goal difference, and head-to-head goals scored. This simulator applies all official FIFA tiebreaker rules automatically as you enter match scores.
