About Group K

Teams in Group K

🇵🇹Portugal(UEFA)

Portugal are one of Europe's most consistent World Cup performers — semi-finalists in 2006 and quarter-finalists in 2022. The Seleção das Quinas boast a technically gifted squad drawn from Europe's elite clubs and are always considered genuine contenders for the title.

🇨🇩DR Congo(CAF)

DR Congo, historically representing as Zaire, were Africa's first World Cup participants back in 1974. The Leopards qualify after years of near-misses and bring passionate support from the continent's largest French-speaking nation, with a technically skilled squad developed through their domestic league.

🇺🇿Uzbekistan(AFC)

Uzbekistan make their World Cup debut after qualifying through the AFC, marking the tournament debut of Central Asian football. The White Wolves have been the region's rising football power, building a competitive squad through a well-structured domestic league and investment in youth development.

🇨🇴Colombia(CONMEBOL)

Colombia qualified through CONMEBOL and arrive in North America as Copa América 2024 runners-up. Los Cafeteros are known for their flair, creativity, and attacking play, combining South American skill with the physical intensity needed to compete at the highest level.

How Group K Qualification Works

The top two teams from Group K advance directly to the Round of 32 of the FIFA World Cup 2026 knockout stage. The third-place team is not automatically eliminated — the 8 best third-place finishers from all 12 groups also advance, ranked by points, goal difference, and goals scored. The fourth-place team is eliminated from the tournament.

In the event of a tie on points, FIFA applies the following tiebreakers in order: goal difference, goals scored, head-to-head points, head-to-head goal difference, and head-to-head goals scored. This simulator applies all official FIFA tiebreaker rules automatically as you enter match scores.
